Hi, my name is Rocio and I am a Clinical Pilates Instructor. I found this to be a long, but incredibly rewarding journey with a lot of studying and practice. I obtained my initial full certificate with Stott Pilates in 2015, and then became hooked on body alignement and movement so furthered my training
with Shari Berkowitz, a Biomechanist, Ergonomist and expert Pilates Teacher of Teachers.
With my career and knowledge progressing, I have been able to challenge myself and extend my knowledge in cancer rehabilitation and women’s health, both of which are areas of special interest to me. I love helping empower women and those who have been diagnosed with cancer to have a better quality of life, manage their symptoms and reach their goals.
I work with people at all stages of their cancer care. Every person needs their individual needs. My goal as movement specialist in Pilates is to empower people looking forwards to living full lives, not only physical impairments and disabilities. It is important to design an individual program to give you support and help you to feel strong again during all stages of treatment.
Educating to prevent functional loss and avoiding unnecessary suffering will give you more control of your body to increase in comfort, function, maintain independence and enjoy full quality of life.
I work closely with a team of physiotherapist specialised in Cancer rehab. Together we design:
An individual Pilates exercise programme based on your current level of activity.
A Pos-operative care management assessment to address range of movement limitations and progressions of exercises to return to function following an operation.
A treatment related aches and pains.
A Cancer Survivor rehabilitation program through group classes.
